On May 10th, NGO INNOVARTE was invited to participate in the meeting organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation of Chile to review the National Artificial Intelligence Policy regarding ethics, legal and regulatory framework and socio-economic impact.

The event consisted of a roundtable discussion with Undersecretary Carolina Gainza, during which the process was reported and civil society was consulted on their concerns or priorities for this issue.

The meeting was attended by Luis Villarroel, Director of NGO INNOVARTE, and other representatives of civil society, who expressed their opinions on the National Policy and suggested areas of work. In this context, NGO Innovarte expressed its concern about the challenges of intellectual property in the development of artificial intelligence and, in particular, research tools such as text and data mining.
